What's Sex Got To Do With Girl Scouts?

CONFESSION FROM OUR
GIRL SCOUT CEO:

Kathy Cloninger

CLICK ON PICTURE (links to YouTube) to see GSUSA CEO Kathy Cloninger admit (and has not retracted) Girl Scouts partner with Planned Parenthood

FACTOID:
Did you know that radical feminist Betty Friedan, founder of NOW (National Organization for Women) and NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) was on the National Board of GSUSA for 12 years?

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS JUST LIKE THE OTHER:
See the proof that Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood share the same ideology of explicit sex ed for children:

Planned Parenthood & Girl Scouts

LEARN TO SPEAK LIKE Planned Parenthood, UN, WHO and WAGGGS:

  • "Young People" = Ages 10 to 24 (there is no distinction between a pre-pubescent child and a full-grown adult with legal access to alcohol and pornography).

  • "Accessible" = without parental knowledge or consent.

  • "Comprehensive" "Informative" "Fact-based" "Good" Sex Education = every act, deviance and topic is presentable to children of any age.

  • "Inclusive" = gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender, intersex.

  • "Emergency contraception" = abortion.

  • "Peer Counseling" = bypassing parental consent and involvement by having children teach children about sex.

Do you have trouble believing the above bullets are accurate? Don't take our word for it,

HonestGirlScouts.com says, "Nothing!"

Forgive us for being blunt, but sex education has no place in Girl Scouts. It is up to each girl's respective parent/guardian/custodian to determine how best to teach about puberty and how her family/group/tradition views sexuality.

HonestGirlScouts.com poses the following question: Which is more potentially harmful to a young child's welfare, alcohol consumption or sexual activity? Girl Scouts of USA (GSUSA) has a Zero Tolerance policy regarding alcohol usage before and during any scout event or activity by anyone, specifically adult volunteers. It is unacceptable. Period. HonestGirlScouts.com thinks that banning alcohol is very prudent, and is looking for some consistency in GSUSA policy.

Sexual activity can be equally, if not more damaging than alcohol consumption. Ultimately, more than one life can be at stake. Then why does GSUSA not prohibit its promotion, especially in its relationship with Planned Parenthood? Any seemingly benign sex education course can segway into discussions of sexual orientation, sexual instruction, pregnancy prevention, contraceptive options and abortion. After all, the official GSUSA response to sex education is as follows:

Our official position on health and sex education is that in some areas of the country, Girl Scout troops or groups may choose to hold discussions about human sexuality and may choose to collaborate with a local organization that specializes in these areas. The topic is discussed from a factual, informative point of view and does not include advocacy or promotion of any social or religious perspective.

BREAKDOWN:

  • "...and may choose to collaborate with a local organization that specializes in these areas." That includes Planned Parenthood and any other local abortion clinic.

  • "...factual, informative point of view..." means you can expose kids to a no-holds-barred discussion. All options are on the table. Homosexuality, abortion, deviant sex... as long as it is "true," GSUSA gives permission to discuss it.

  • "...does not include advocacy or promotion of any social or religious perspective." But don't even THINK of trying to bring morality or mores or standards into the discussion. It must all be judgment-free explicit sexual education.

HonestGirlScouts.com wants all sex education PERMISSION and CURRICULA removed from all scouting. Let's get back to developing the individual girl's character and leave sex education to her guardians/parents.

Sexy v. Not Sexy

Have you ever wondered why Girl Scouts has zeroed in on HIV/AIDS as THE disease young girls NEED to know about for their health safety? Wouldn't it make more sense to raise awareness for the Top 10 Causes of Female Death, according to the CDC 2006 Report:

Leading Causes of Female Deaths in United States

All Females (All Ages), Percent*

1) Heart disease, 25.8%
2) Cancer, 22.0%
3) Stroke, 6.7%
4) Chronic lower respiratory diseases, 5.3%
5) Alzheimer's disease, 4.2%
6) Unintentional injuries, 3.5%
7) Diabetes, 3.0%
8) Influenza and pneumonia, 2.5%
9) Kidney disease, 1.9%
10) Septicemia, 1.5%

Hmm, HIV/AIDS doesn't make it in the Top Ten in the US. Then, surely, HIV/AIDS must be a huge percentage of female death around the world, right? Otherwise, why concentrate so much education and awareness on it? After all, there are entire BADGES you can earn on AIDS in Girl Scouts. Let's look at the WHO (World Heath Organization) statistics from 2004:

Leading Female Deaths, WHO

Oh. Only 3.7% in the whole world. That is much less than 12.2% for heart disease or 11.1% for stroke or 7.3% for repiratory infections. SO WHY IS THERE SUCH AN EMPHASIS ON HIV/AIDS AWARENESS in Girl Scouts?

Can one speculate that the other deaths are not "sexy" enough? Meaning, you can't teach children about sex if you focus on the #1 leading cause of death in the US and the world, heart disease. There is nothing explicitly sexual you can teach a kid about strokes. And respiratory infections are definitely not "hot." But if you focus on HIV/AIDS, you can talk about homosexuality, prostitution, condoms, and all kinds of things you wouldn't mention if you had to stick with obstructive pulmonary diseases.

Irony From the Mouth of GSUSA C.E.O., Kathy Cloninger

"...I would like to say that we were very disappointed that a citizen would... ...bully young girls into getting involved in an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with the mission of Girl Scouting...."

Ironically, GSUSA has done exactly that by sending teenage delegates to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to learn about "sexual rights," and making sex education a necessary topic for earning AIDS badges. Once they can open the door to sex education, "good information" becomes graphic instruction, "choice" becomes abortion, "sexual equality" becomes any-kind-of-sex-that-makes-you-feel-good, and "rights" becomes contraception, drugs and medical procedures without parental notification.

The Very Fact That GSUSA Permits Explicit Sex Education...

...is proof again that its "informal" relationships (with Planned Parenthood, United Nations, Centers for Disease Control and CARE) and its support, association and funding of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) are more important to the organization than keeping ALL children safe from information that might be in direct conflict with their upbringing. It is this slippery slope that those organizations count on to get their agendas out to young, impressionable minds.
